Qctp Locking Handle

I have been needing to make this one for a long time. Finding the wrench for locking and unlocking the QCTP
takes up a bit of time. Time I could use for turning. The obvious choice would be to make the QCTP locking nut
and the wrench for it one piece. However if you change risers, or tool posts then the angle of the handle would
most likely change leaving you with a wrench over your part or in your face!

I made this six way wrench/nut for my QCTP on the mini lathe. The handle may be secured in any of 6 places at
the top of the high nut. The height of the nut keeps the handles free of interference.

There is an 8 degree angle at the top and a "locking thumb screw" to secure the handle to the nut. The threads
on the handle are about 1 thread longer than the total space available for the handle when it is fully engaged in the nut.
The brass topper also helps keep some chips out of the "wrench"

The handle is drill rod and has some surgical tubing to soften the end that hits the palm of your hand when operating it.
The thread for the post is 10mm x 1.5mm and the hole in the top for the brass plug is tapped 1/2-20.

So far it is working out fine. Should have done it the day I bought the lathe.
