As a kid I never wore laced shoes so when I got into high school and was forced to participate in gym I had to buy a pair of gym shoes and teach myself how to tie the damned things. In the Army having to tie my combat boots was one thing I hated worse than button up shirts.
2 things you won't find in my closet are shirts with buttons and anything with laces

Now I know why my work shoes come with such long laces. I have been cutting them off for years.
