I have never been a fan of pig tail mounts for buffing wheels, they never run the same each time they get changed. As I only have one buffing machine and wheel changes are frequent I decided to make dedicated mounts for each wheel. These are easy to make and reamed a nice fit on the grinder shafts and held on with one 6mm grub screw to a flat filed on the shafts, with sturdy support washers wheels now stay true once worn in, I also made one for a keyless Kawasaki drill chuck for using wire brushes, flap wheels etc. This has been a great improvement to getting the most use out of one machine in a small workshop. While at it I made a small under storage cabinet to keep the wheels stored dust free.

Great idea! I was looking for a 5/8-11 threaded drill chuck this weekend for my grinder, but all I found were smaller. I’ll make a small batch of these as you suggest and get more use.
