Rail car movers - videos

2:18 So simple, even a suit can do it.

I actually have one of the hand box car movers. There is another one at work minus the handle.

I walk stuff like machines on shafts from scrapped Foosball table with 2 pinch bars. The manual version car mover strikes me as a 2nd class lever. I'm imagining how to fabricate one to work from more of a standing position, compared to pinching.

Archaeologists are always speculating about how ancient peoples moved giant stone monoliths about. Is it possible that they too discovered this version of the lever ? With the monolith on rollers, the motion would be nearly identical to pushing railroad cars around. At the very least, it would be far more effective than dragging (or walking as the Nui people did) and wouldn't require any great technological leaps forward to evolve.
