Incompetent ship handling is not new then. Can’t blame women or reduced manning for this one.

There can be amplifying mechanical issues; but collisions always boil down to one thing 'failure to maintain a proper forward watch".
Not far different from all the impacts of three wheeled off-road vehicles. Another reason they weren't made for long.
