WHILE there is >a Need< for this, as a person who has worked HARD Blue Collar work 60% of my LIFE, I remember nearly EVERY *Collision* to my SKIN, via my scars . . . AND would never have them removed!
As a Paramedicine TRAINED person, Who has lived in the >OUT BACK< borrowing an Aussie term there: I have ALSO done Emergency Medicines, via HERBS, the #1 most IMPORTANT, within this video's subject, I have, by coincidence, Two nearly Identical Scar locations on BOTH INDEX fingers ( ! ! ! ! ).
One happened at a time/place where I could GO to an URGENT CARE, it (Right Index) received 8 stitches, healed in 10 days.
The >other< I chose NOT to Travel, and using my Emergency Supplies:
1. cleaned wound, holding 4×4 gauze using left hand fingers, whilst Elevating Cut Area ABOVE my head.
2. Opened my (very small container) of Golden Seal Root Powder (G.S.R.P.):
2a. It is an Astrigent.
2b. Anti-septic.
AND 2c. . . . . . it is a VERY effective COAGULENT.
QUICKLY Bringing my left hand down onto the *surgery* table, I poured out G.S.R.P. Onto the already bleeding cut (A Minor artery involved at that SPOT),
I clamped my Left Middle Finger & Thumb to hold & close, while my Right Hand grabbed a 2×2 gauze, and Three butter-fly bandages.
I cleaned OFF blood AND loose G.S.R.P., while STILL clamping SHUT, the injury.
A second Layer of G.S.R.P., and a bit of waiting, more 2×2 gauze, >>>>>SLOWLY<<<<< released the pressure, No BLEED Out, clean & Butter-Fly bandages, first at the middle of cut, SECOND at upper Finger portion, THEN just above my fingernail.
I put an Aluminum Finger Splint on it, with just a bit of 1/2" adhesive tape,
AND Rested.
in total, I used Less THAN 1/4 Teaspoon of G.S.R.P., and Now I will state that G.S.R.P. costs about $120.00/# but the stuff is as fine as wheat flour, I have NEVER bought more than about an OUNCE, until I needed to buy in BULK, because the FDA, decided we mere mortals have No Right to buy this in a Store we walk into !
It healed in SIX DAYS, and looks Better than the Right Index Finger.
I know this is a LONG post, however . . . I have used this since 1975, "give or take an inch" and it has NEVER let me down!
I once was called by a member of my Church, I heard her frantic tone.
Her husband, A CHEF, had cut himself, while cutting up a CHICKEN, "can I help?" (zero insurance).
At that MOMENT, my other hat was on, I had just Cold Tarred an RV roof.
Clean up (Just to DRIVE).
Arrived, MEDICAL CLEAN UP, @ point in time for Friend.
They HAD elevated his whole hand, with a bloody Wash Cloth soaking up the blood (same artery, but Longer cut in the artery !!!! ).
I prepped, she was my nurse.
Finished using nearly a 1/2 teaspoon of G.S.R.P., and Aluminum splint, etc.
HE WENT TO WORK that night (or lose his job) with a Rubber Cotlet covering.
A week later total healing, no disability to Finger.
I "cherish" my injuries, they REMIND ME, to Stay SAFE, & carry G.S.R.P.
