    I've run 28 years on the same grease in my spindle bearings so am a little overdue for a repacking. Here is how I did it.

    When I have to paint I use KBS products

    I have been told (in other contexts, ISTR it was wheel bearings, or possibly re-assembling part of a Honda or Moto Guzzi drivetrain...it was a long time ago) that butterfly washers like that should not be re-used as unbending and re-bending the tabs significantly weakens them. Coulda been an 'old mechanics tale' though, as it was an old mechanic who told me...

    Nope mine is a lot older 1978 GL 30-B but pretty much the same
