Replace 1 / 4-20UNC with metric thread

Today I lost the tripod screw,it is 1/4-20UNC，but My 7X14mini lathe can not make UNC threads,
I try to use metric threads instead of it,I made a 6.35 × 1.25 screws,Shorter screws ,They can be used normally。
