Restoring and repurposing an old shoemaker's hammer

Hello,

This is a shoemaker’s hammer I found long time ago. I had almost forgotten it in my toolbox; I decided that was time to do something with it and was the best candidate for a texturing hammer!


I left it to soak in vinegar

3 days later

With a bit of filing and sanding the job was done


After the hardening


As it looks now

Here is a short video if like to watch. Now, in one of the comments a viewer said that the process of wrapping and stitching the leather on the handle was short to see; he asked me if I could make a video showing the process in more detail, so I made one.
