Just set your lawn mower to its lowest height setting and run back and forth until the leaves are ground to powder the first rain will start them to decompose
Not with my wet leaves - the leaves start falling when the rains start...
Lots of oak leaves around us. They take 3 or 4 years to break down.
I shall try that tomorrow, with the steel rake. Not sure it will work,
