    Another way to deal with those pesky roots is to grow a 100 foot tall Douglas Fir, that could take 100+ years, make sure that the ground is not too stable. Now being a Doug Fir it will be susceptible to disease. Then all you have to do is wait for the high winds we had last night. It came within inches of doing damage. The county had fun cleaning it up this morning...
