Dear Artisan: Thats a nice and simple solution - I like it and I will (after years of reluctance) copy it. A real relief for the cutting process is a larger hole. An Allen key transmits the torque only by the edges. A 'complete' hexagon is unnecessary. Therefore drill a ø6.3...6.5 mm bore for an Allen size 6. By the way 'relief': Brass doesn't like to be cut with a blade with steel 'history'. I always keep 2 different saws.
Very interesting, this seems to be a much simpler way to build a rotary broach than other designs I’ve seen over the years and appears to work well.
