    Router stabilizer handle

    Hi,
Here is an extension handle I have designed in order to stabilize the use of my router, especially when routing on an edge, in order to avoid the tool to tilt over the edge and ruin the work.

It's a rectangular block with a central handle used with the two standard bars delivered with the router to support its standard edge fence.
It is common to see systems using an additional sole with an extension, but I didn't want to add any sole height and wanted to keep simple.
On the other hand, I had to realize that the parallelism of the two bars is very poor and that my handle needed some kind of adjustment.
So I added this sole adjustment under the handle, which is set up with the screws that can be seen on the top, and that allows to have the sole of the extension handle exactly in the plane of the router sole.

Last but not least, adding a little pin under the handle, you obtain a nice circle jig. It is even possible to replace the original bars by longer steel bars.

    Thanks for reading.
