Router table
I learned a lot using my old router table. My new one is accessible from the top, adjusts from the front and locks without changing position. It can also take plunge cuts and the front half of the table slides up to 8 inches.
The top is much smaller than the old one, only about 18”x25”, but it fits into my saw table making a bigger work surface. It’s built around a hardwood frame with the top and slide ways bolted on.
The motor attaches to the plywood carriage with a couple home made u-bolts and the carriage locks to the extruded slide ways using cams the same way.
The regular lift is from the front through a right angle gear box and an acme screw with a spring-loaded delrin half nut. With that disengaged the router can be fed with a pedal attached with a bowden cable.
The plywood fence is split and adjusts with a rack and pinion.
