Sacrificial anti crush plugs for clamping thin cylinders

I have found that when you need to clamp a thin cylinder in a vice either for milling, drilling or cutting Or about anything else that requires a thin cylinder to be held in a vice it is best to insert something on the inside to prevent distortion or crushing.
. In the making of the crankshaft sleeve bushing I needed to do just that. My favorite material of choice for these tasks is what ever I have laying around at the time. Which turned out to be in today's case a couple of pieces of 1" diameter Delrin drops. Delrin is perfect for this since it is soft enough to be driven in the ID all be it was about .005" oversize to the bore< additionally when cutting the length of the sleeve with a hacksaw the Delrin does not add to the amount of labor required to make the cuts in the material. it is substantial enough to allow the part to be held in the vice without deforming
