Saw sharpening vice
Attachment 29617Attachment 29617
This vice has served me very well for thirty years. It is based on a design which was submitted to Fine Woodworking by Brian Johnson, of Sacramento. The jaws are tightened by a cam.
Attachment 29618
I do not have it permanently at my bench but only when I have to sharpen.
While it is nice to have acquired this Disston vice, at least I do not have to move a panel saw backwards and forwards when using the wooden vice.

This next picture shows a simple guide to maintain the fleam angle. This one is 60 degrees.Attachment 29619
