Sawing Handheld Round Stock Safely

I could foresee a thumb tip parting ways when the blade broke through the pipe. But, luck played a part. Hope you, still, have all of your digits.

Sawing round stock on a bandsaw can be a challenge. The stock tends to spin in your hand as the blade grabs the perimeter. This, at least, damages the stock. At worst, it can draw your hand into the blade.

A modified hockey puck provides a good grip.
