Have you ever tried to clamp 4-inch diameter thin-walled PVC pipe in your horizontal bandsaw’s vise? When I do it, there is never enough force to secure it. Sure, I can apply plenty of clamping force to the outside of the pipe, but this just distorts it. The trick is to apply this force to both the inside and outside of the pipe.

I do like the internal support. I've found it useful to use my table saw with a V block set up. Then I just rotate the cylinder over the blade, which is adjusted just to the needed height.
