I sure am glad I skip to the end of these damn build videos, I don’t know who actually watches these without knowing what they’re actually going to make in the end, a lot of the time they sure are anti-climactic…

YOU would also think a 65 year old welder would know the hazards of welding galvanized steel. That white "smoke" is deadly. Does not take much to cause permanent damage.

I'm sure whoever made this uh, seed planter. will figure out they have several design flaws eventually.
For one the flapper valve on the bottom means the tube from the seed box contains a whole column of seeds with no possibility for metered flow. Should have been located just below the seed box. The direction of the hinge if he wants to leave it on the bottom like that should be rotated180°. This would cause the flow of the seeds to be in the cut made by the tool instead of pouring them outside of it.
Yeah welding galvanize can be a real B**ch. I've done it more often that I like to think about over the past 60 years of welding. once had to spend several days welding inside of a galvanized tank with nothing but a bandanna wrapped around my face had to change it every couple of hours and drank lots of buttermilk to throw up as much of the crap as I could by the way I hate the taste of buttermilk. That was 50 years ago, and I probably have had stage 4 lung cancer for the past 40 years and don't even know it. If I don't it is probably only because of smoking cigarettes for 15 years by that time kept my lungs coated so heavily that the zinc poisoning had little effect.
The key to welding anything is to keep your head out of the path of the plum of welding smoke.
