This seems like one of those things that was really fun to design and build, but then they realized there was not much of a market for it - the musicians all have metronomes from when they were just getting started and well before they had the money to buy this one.

To add to what Karl_H said. what real use is it. if you are the musician, you can't see it to help you maintain a rhythm unless you are using a tambourine. If you are a musical instructor, you would want your students to be able to see the metronome to help them with their rhythm
