Sewer explodes after man throws a cigarette butt down a walkway hole. Amazingly, the man survived.

Looks to me like the methane extraction ventilation had failed. either that of someone had disposed of some extremely volatile liquid which had turned to gas.

Probably either methane or maybe natural gas leaking into the sewer. (I have seen natural gas lines run directly through sewers)

The first frame shows a guy with his foot over the hole and looking at it and the time stamp shows 2017/03/29 at 09:35:28 and a few frames later jumps to 2017/03/29 at 09:51:50 as another guy walks up... This looks like a murder set up to me! Frame by frame the time stamp shows a continuous progression with no apparent break. It looks real right up to the hole in the ground as he drags himself away. Involuntary reactions are pretty amazing, probably what saved this guy. This is why my butt stays out of holes!
