Whatever it is called, it is a small wonder the shark has survived to be the size he is. Sharks depend on agility to be able to ambush food as well as to avoid being eaten. The excess build up a cartilage along its spine turning it into a hunch back will both make it harder for it to get food as well as harder to flee any would be foe, even if living in captivity

Actually that's kyphosis. Not lordosis and not scoliosis.

Kyphosis for the win. I have never considered that even marine animals could suffer from such things.

Since Kyphosis appears to be the closest description so far. I have to question if even that would be the correct label. All three terms are descriptions of spinal abnormalities mostly referring to the bones. Key words being spine and bones, Sharks have no spine in the sense of it being made of bones and cartilage, the central core of their skeletal structure is called a notochord made entirely of cartilage their vertebrate grow by adding outer layers or rings just as a tree, although still referred to as the spine, I am thinking its condition may have been caused by blunt force trauma such as an Orca striking it

That shark likely has no idea there is any difference between itself and any other shark or fish or porpoise or whatever and it would likely not have grown to that size had it not been able to maneuver, protect and feed itself. My question would be, was the shark born in captivity or moved there?
