    Sheet metal rollers

    Hi All
Been a while since I last posted on HMT. I have not been that busy in the workshop as I hadn’t been well again and have concentrated on other hobbies. But I had one little spark to motorise my rotary table using an arduino and that rekindled my interest for engineering. I will post this project in a few weeks time as it is not quite finished and has taken me a long time to build (due to lack of electronic and arduino code programming skills).
So I thought I would post my rollers I made 30 years ago. They were looking very tired and well used so I decided to clean them up and repaint them. They are a great little set of rollers and I even managed to roll my 3” Foden boiler barrel on them which is no mean feat as it is 1/8” copper. Yes I did have to anneal several times to help the process. These rollers now look shiny so I won’t be throwing them under the bench and allowing them to go rusty then having to drag them out and clean them up before I can use them.

that looks very professional, and it certainly appreciates you giving it come clean-up respect

You probably don't have any plans?

Are the roller solid or tubes?

Sorry no plans but I hope to install autoCad so I can draw them up. The rollers are solid and as per most of my projects it started with three solid pieces off cut off steel which I bought at scrap value. The company I worked for allowed you to buy scrap material For 0.05p per/kg (that was 20 years ago).

Do get well. My shop time is limited mostly due to being a working stiff. As a result I think I got 4 shop related projects done this year.

In any event thanks for the pictures! That looks like one handy tool that have!!!!!
