    I suspect that started earlier, many hundreds [maybe thousands] of yards upstream, lost power and/ or steerage, adrift in current. In very beginning [0.03], port side is a pier or lock midstream, and too few tugs astern couldn't maintain control to get her along side.

    I am so often surprised when I see a video like this. Obviously shot by someone who just happens to be there, with their cell phone. I always have to wonder WHY is it, as the scene unfolds, just as the "main event" is about to happen, they have to turn away and capture video of some minor thing going on totally away from what I would should be the focal point of the event.

    Yes, live 'editing' seems to ruin the actual [if so] event. And while demolition for a drawbridge is free, it looks like an inside bend in the river, so a LOT of dredging is needed. Sand bars may have made, or furthered, this occurrence. The vessel is not down by the stern, and relatively high [unloaded] in draft, so...
