Why did it split? There seems to have been a division line right at the break, the bigger section appears to be sealed.

The ship ran aground while sailing inside a northern Japanese port. It managed to free itself from the seabed, but suffered a crack which widen and eventually splits in two parts. The ship's forward has several watertight cargo holds and is still floating but held by an anchor chain.
