Shortening the lathe switch lever

The rotary switch for my Sheldon lathe is mounted on a factory casting and in such a place that it can easily be switched on accidently if you happen to walk past it a little too close. Ordinarily this didn't bother me as I knew to avoid it. Unplugging it when not in use was a pain because the cord always managed to drop behind the lathe to a hard to reach place. For a while I had removed the knob and the stem but that was also a pain to switch on the lathe without it so I decided to shorten the stem and re install the knob, Now it is short enough not to get accidently bumped the shorter stem requires more force to turn it anyway, but it is still easy to switch on and off when needed
