And the driver just had to toss out his cigarette but. Smoking in the hay truck or the hay loft was a sure fire (sic) way to get on the bad side of may grandpa. But for some strange reason he didn't care if you were dumb enough to smoke in the outhouse, guess he figured the issue would be self correcting.

I did wonder if this was another dubious film clip staged scene. The driver couldn't have not known. even if you don't consciously look in the mirrors (presuming that he has some),the flickering flames would attract his attention, like a television in your peripheral vision.

More likely not wanting his (probably) uninsured truck to burn up, he is hauling ass to a fire station or someone with an excavator!

    Spontaneous combustion?
Judging by the speed of the vehicle and the fact the horn is being used, the driver is well aware of what is happening.
Stopping in the middle of a town is not an option.
I hope this ended well, but I have some doubt.

Or maybe intentionally driving through a town to terrorize the inhabitants.

Seems like he is afraid to stop in the town. Those roads look pretty narrow and the structures look like they are tinder bundles just waiting.
