    Looks real good, eh, only problem now is that you have stuffed the tyre completely.
    No way can that tyre ever be retreaded, once you have done that to it.

    The other thing is it's illegal to do it as well, you are removing the rubber and getting down close to the wire of a steel belted radial, or, getting real close to the canvas on an old rag tyre.

    All this does is make the tyre go B-A-N-G a lot bloody quicker.

    They used to do it I remember back in the 80's going into a tyre works and seeing a guy doing just this.

    IF it was a normal car/light truck tyre I'd agree with you 100%, but it looks like a heavy truck tyre and a lot of those are designed and manufactured to be regroovable https://trucks.michelin.co.uk/Produc...and-Retreading

    Hi NeiljohnUK,
    Thank you for that information. Did a bit of research after I watched it and found that here we can get truck tyres that are able to be regrooved, but against the law with regard to car tyres and LDV's.

    Used to do this to truck tyres in the '70s and '80s. Only if though, they were marked as "Regroveable".
