    Do they use a long chain or belt type saw to cut across the section like that? Or one heck of a sawzall blade?!

    Yes, certainly a belt or band arrangement, a method also used in stone work. There are a few scattered car chassis cut through on the same basic plane.

    Which reminds me to mention a prevalent scam. Someone posts a legitimate ad for a vehicle, priced, pictures, mileage, model number - everything.
    Bulk of responses will be scammers steering you to their 'link' for a VIN report. They've no intention of purchase, just collecting the fee for a phony search. Not to mention some sites provide that free of charge and it appears IN YOUR POST!

    car fox can be handy but it was made to sell cars...for the dealers. oh so many things are not reported to car fox.dealer stuff usualy is as is insurance claims and some body shops, but not always...many are not.

    The bulk of the steel would be in the ship's framework, not the cars.
