That's like a spike-strip for fleeing skateboarders... except with a harsher stop.

Yeah, I think most would. That skater didn't appear to see the obstacle. I only skateboarded once and that was down a long hill, only to find that the sandy buildup at the bottom was as effective in stopping me as that hose was in the video!
