    interesting how the rings aren't complete, let alone concentric - it's as if sections of the growth have been removed and then it's barked over the damage

    ductape's Tools
    Spatholobus is an ornamental plant with a woody vine that is soft enough to be sliced like this. It really isn't a tree in the same sense as a pine or maple. The width of the rings suggest that it had a pretty good life. There's some research being done on the properties of it.
