    Slitting Saw Arbor

I have several different arbors for slotting saws that are straight shank. But I wanted to make one with an integrated R-8 shank to fit slotting saws that as a .750" hole with a 1/8" key, Beings most of what I do is slotting anyway.

The arbor and washer was made from 4140 preheat treated steel, There is a 1/8"dowel pin in the face of the arbor to drive the saws, The dowel pin is spring loaded so it will always protrude to the maximum thickness of the saw, As you tighten the arbor washer it will compress the spring.

Below are some photos of the arbor

Thanks For Looking And Happy Machining

Beautiful looking tool and the spring loaded dowel pin for various saw thicknesses is a clever addition to your design.
