I've found these power supplies are pretty handy for small projects.

Note they are intended to be used as constant current supplies to drive high power LEDs but as long as you draw less than the rated output they will clamp the voltage around 12V.

Some of these may NOT be isolated from the Mains. For many uses, don't care. But check if you need isolation.
