    That is not compacting. It is just a giant "rototiller". It you look closely at the rear wheels you will see them pressing the fluffy dirt down. They are preparing to mix lime cement some other binding material with the dirt, then compact it. From the looks of the bouncing, the tiller rotors are messed up. There could also be a big rock stuck in the rotor. It should not be bouncing like that.

    It WILL break if they keep using it that way.

    PS, I just looked at the video again. Look closely at the last 2 seconds on the video, you will see puffs of white dust exit the back. Then machine stops moving forward. Possible something broke loose and the operator decided he better check what is going on.

    That was destined to happen anyway because it's a Terex. Kidding aside good catch on the rest of that stuff. I think you're right. Kick that operator square in the nuts for running the equipment to failure like that.
