Or you can just carry your own bag or drag it as you have from your house to the car and then into the airport and then to your gate. Just another piece of unnecessary technology. That is why there are now wheels on bags.

I can see value in this as a guide to my gate - helpful if you don't know the airport layout, or the signage is not intuitive. - not to carry my bags, but more as a "follow me to where you need to go" - as long as I can ask it where the toilet i on the way.
