Amazing! I once had a splinter crossways in my finger, just under the bone. ER doctor worked for 15 minutes and couldn't find it and then told me that it will work it's way out in 6 months. I could feel in for all that time and in 6 months exactly, a pimple formed and when I picked it, out popped a 1/2" splinter.

I showed this to my wifey and she emphatically told me to NEVER show her anything like this again. I thought it was an excellent example of how the body takes care of getting rid of foreign bodies.

The object in the video looks more like a thorn than a splinter
While clearing brush on our property it is not uncommon to have a long thorn puncture through heavy gloves. I carry a first aid kit on the carry all for just such occasions., consisting of Hydrogen peroxide , Betadine, lidocaine, triple antibiotic salve, liquid Benadryl 'immediately drink a whole bottle incase of rattle snake bite' a roll of 4"Corflex tape, gauze pads surgical tape and of course band-aids, the kit includes these plus many other items
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

    Gadgeteer's Tools
I read in "Boy's Life" magazine how to prepare to collect quills from a porcupine by stuffing a cloth bag full of rags, and attaching same to a pole. I was so armed on a trip through the Bad Lands of S.D., as a young lad. Mom was driving along the highway when I spotted a roadkill critter. I yelled for her to stop, and jumped out, grabbed the quill-collector from the car's trunk, and proceeded to fill the bag with quills after pummeling the beast several times. When we returned home I removed the quills from the bag on the kitchen table, and placed the best ones into a box. I didn't do a very good job cleaning up after myself, so mom gathered the culls with her hands, and into the trash they went. Weeks later, she showed me the result of her carelessness. She had gotten impaled by one of the quills, which had worked its way through her hand from palm to back.

A rare splinter to be so kind, smooth and tapered; certainly a thorn. Our bet is black or honey locust tree.
