Spontaneous flash fire caused when unloading cargo ship. Apparently the cargo is palm kernel expeller.

Looks like there may have been a spark at an electrical junction or control box on the left side of the chute tower.
My thought was that the truck's exhaust ignited the dust cloud because it appears to start at about the height of an exhaust tube outlet, but there could be an electric motor or contactor at that same height.
It could also be the load of palm kernel expeller dust causing a static spark as in slides each other particles as it is falling down. Some other loads like cotton fibers, flour, etc can make similar flash fires. It looks like maybe the crane operator may have dumped the clam shell load from too high a point.
Looks like the bucket suffered a premature opening — before it ever reached the loading chute. Cause of the accidental opening, is anybody's guess.Quote:

If you look closely, the bucket that dropped the kernels is much too large to fill the hopper loading the trucks. Looks like it's filling a container beside the trucks.
