Could you grind the other end of the parting blade install it in reverse. so that the bevel is on the right instead?
I switched to a parting tool with repleacable carbide tips because there's too much play in the dovetails on my lathe's compound, and they chattered more than they cut. The carbide ones tend to shatter, so I'd rather use the blade-type for general use.
