Stand for heavy vise
I just finished a stand for my Reed 4C vise. I used a 22 1/2" Budd semi truck rim with a section out of a CO2 tank for a column. The vise weighs 185 lbs. and the stand about 160.
I don't think I need to bolt it to the floor for my small home shop work, but I can always weld tabs to the base for that purpose if needed. Rubber covers over the two hand holes in the rim should keep anything from accidentally falling into the rim.

Looks really beefy. Your point about tabs for bolts reminded me of earz's custom plugs for drop-in anchors: https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/...958#post217421
