Stand Up Handgrinder or Edge Grinder

I grind and polish concrete and do epoxy floors. I was sick of working on my knees for edges so I made these edge grinders. One has a 1/2 hp motor and the other has a 2 hp motor. They work awesome and I would never spend money on buying one of these from a company that makes them because of the fact these I can make for a lot cheaper and they work perfectly.

Very nice. I totally agree with you. I'd rather fab one than spend a couple of grand. How much did you spend on it?

    Thank You
I spent about 250.00 making both grinders the most expensive part was the drive shaft which I had turned at a shop since I don't have a lathe. I didn't spend much because I already had the motors and the square tube for the frame and the casters. Also I sold a couple of them to get my money back.

Well engineered hipkat101. Thanks for sharing. Your design is doable and could be modified to be driven by a single motor.

Great work! I've seen commercial units of these in action and they were ungainly beasts.

It does only have one motor. There is two of them and one has a 1/2 hp motor and the other has a 2 hp motor. And yes they are beasts! Thank you very much I am glad you like them!
