Hi,
I my name is Rebecca. My brother and I our buying a 10 acre 1900's abandoned Dairy farm and going off grid.
We are both from the construction field and grew up country....With all of the old barns and silos and house (gutted) are still there so we will be recycling alot of the building material to improve the homestead and am always interested in new ideas in how to "do it myself "....

Sounds like a huge and fun project! What's first up on your list?
We will start with the famhouse....2600 4/1... We have installed windows and made it save, warm, and dry...we want to convert it to a gallery for my brothers sculptures and my oil paintings. While doing that we will be salvage all material we can and start the diy solor grid and hydrogenerator for watering the farm and repairing fences....i dont think there is any one thing or place to start...lol and in the mean time we are getting the inground foundation pads in for our two container homes we are building....
