    I have one of these. They work as advertised, but they have so much mass that it puts quite a strain on the machine. The trimmer head bouncing off of the concrete is enough to cause the drive rope to coil and uncoil enough to stall the engine. It's likely less of a problem for more powerful strimmers. I have a lighter one, but it'll need modification to fit my strimmer, so I haven't used it yet.
