Stirling Engine w/ Generator - Gamma Walking Beam Style

One more Stirling engine. This one's a bit different. This Stirling engine uses a walking beam. It runs well, but has some issues (see warnings) that create safety issues above and beyond most others. It comes with a generator.

WARNING: Hot parts, open flame, flammable liquids. Danger of fire and burns. Not for children. This model vibrates badly and the fuel can gets way too hot. Use proper precaution. If you don't know, learn first or do not do it.

Much of the vibration arises from the linkages. They're too thin and deformable and the bearing points are too loose. If they were properly machined rather than pressed construction they wouldn't vibrate so much.

Just out of curiosity, what is the function, if any, of the small cup-like structure on the inside edge of the flywheel rim? There also appears to be another hole near the hub on the spoke opposite the cup structure. Perhaps this flywheel is used in more than one model the company makes.

Marv, that cup is where the set screw is on the shaft on on the outer rim it's where the wrench passes through to access the set screw.
