For future reference...all you do is highlight the subject description (in this case "Storm surge tears through a U.S. Army military base restaurant in the Marshall Islands") and right click the highlighted text and then click "search google for storm surge tears through military base" and voila your story shows up...

I wonder why no one was trying to escape to the land side of the building? Especially before the lights went out. The guy that shot the video said "Everyone responded to the emergency scenario..." but I saw everyone, except one guy, just standing around watching it all happen. Most of them could have crossed the room to the exit before the next (bigger) wave hit. And where was the emergency lighting? I see one light clear in the back room and now you're trying to escape a potentially deadly event in almost complete darkness. They had to know it wouldn't be just one wave and the likelihood would be they'd get stronger before they subsided. LOTS of opportunities for improvement here but it's unfortunate it'll be in response to, not in preparation for, an emergency. This is why we have emergency action drills. I'm just very glad there was only one injury, it could have been much worse!

At least that was a 'natural' event, some however are not, even with systems like this:

Ships get damaged due to human stupidity:
1:08 in, that's 'gash' illicitly stowed in an engineering space. A Li-ion vape battery in the 'gash' was suspected to be the cause, not the AHU (air-con) as claimed apparently.
