I bought a propane/oxygen “welder” once at the state fair. It used standard small propane bottles. And solid round sticks that you had to light then stuff into a canister, close the lid the light the propane torch. I was never very successful welding anything with it. About the time things got hot enough the weld the oxygen would run out. Had to be over 50 years ago. I think the “sticks” were labeled SolidOx.

I had one of those solid-ox welding torches as well. I bought it from an ad in the back of Pop-sci. Not bad for small jobs on light gage metal the ox sticks burned up too fast. I did manage to build a gas tank for a motorcycle using it though.
The solid-ox stuff was made out of Sodium chlorate
