used ones are best, takes less power top spin. one of my old hotrods was a electrick driven water pump.I out a new pump on and it could barley turn it soI stuck the old one back on. a little wobbly shaft but no leeks since it was a cog belt and not tight. works great.

I am amazed I never thought of this! I pump water for my cattle with sump pumps and I go trough a lot of them.
