I have several of these in my face and mandible. In 2007 I had a motorcycle wreck and shattered my face on the door of a Nissan hard body. I was wearing a half helmet and basically shattered and broke everything below the forehead. It’s known as a LaForte type of fracture. There are a few different types 1-3 or 4. I also have some titanium mesh in the orbital floors of both of my eyes.
The head of EENT at UofL hospital told my wife “it’s like trying to put Rice Krispies together”.
