    My tail vice was becoming chewed up and needed new linings. At the same time, I have a few swages, bicks, fullers and anvil tools which do not fit nicely in the hardy holes of my anvils. The plate is quarter inch thick salvaged plate, roughly drilled, then cut and filed to shape. The bench beneath has been mortised. I am still considering how to prevent the mortises filling with scarf.Click image for larger version.

ID:	15650This shows a cobbler's last of wrought iron (they are usually cast iron) which I have bent upwards. I doubt whether it will sustain much use.

    [ATTACH=CONFIG]15652[/ATTACH This picture below shows a stake anvil made from a pick axe. I wish I had chosen one that was not so pitted. Also in view is the swage block I made earlier this year.
