Use a CNC mill as a shaper?

That's brilliant! How do you keep the spindle from rotating?

Clamp down on the spindle brake most likely. I have done this with my manual vertical mill, by hand, and I just pulled down on the spindle brake and clamped it there so that the spindle didn't rotate.
Probably same thing on the CNC I would imagine.
