    Testing Irrigation Emitters

I'm always reluctant to post something this simple. It is downright embarrassing. Yet it is a useful trick, so I will take the risk.

It is 110 degrees today here in Phoenix. My plants wilt if they don't get enough water from their drip irrigation emitters. But when I see a plant going flat, is it because the zone is not running long enough or because its emitter is partially clogged?

Here is a simple way to measure the flow rate. No math and it takes only 30 seconds to get a reading. You probably already have the equipment.
